About Pronto Aligners

Pronto Aligners are a series of clear, custom-made trays that fit snugly over your teeth and gradually and gently move your teeth into the right position. The aligners are designed according to the treatment plan of your dentist utilizing highly advanced software and manufactured by specialists in a state-of-the-art facility.

Inserting Your Aligners

  • Make sure you have the right aligner for the top and bottom teeth.

  • You can start with either the top or bottom aligner.

  • During the first few times, insert the aligners in facing a mirror.

  • Match the midline of the aligner with the midline of your teeth.

  • Push the aligner over your front teeth.

  • Use your fingertips to press down on the back of the aligner until it clicks into place.

  • If it doesn't fit right away, check if you have chosen the right aligner and it is in the proper position.

  • Do not push the aligner with excessive force.

  • Make sure the aligners are fitting snugly against your teeth.

  • If you can not insert an aligner without excessive force or you are concerned about the level of discomfort, contact your dentist.

Taking Out Your Aligners

  • Use your fingers to gently lift the aligner starting from the back teeth on one side and continuing to the back teeth on the opposite side until the aligner is completely removed.

  • Don't use any sharp objects to remove your aligners.

Wearing Your Aligners

  • Wear your aligners all the time, except when you are eating, brushing, and flossing.

  • This means you should wear the aligners for approximately 22 hours every day or according to your dentist’s instructions.

  • After inserting a new aligner during the first few days, you will feel some pressure and mild discomfort caused by the force necessary to move your teeth.

  • You may also notice a slight change in your speech which will correct itself over time.

Taking Care of Your Aligners

  • When you remove your aligners, rinse them with room-temperature water and place them in the aligner case.

  • Keep your aligners protected in the aligner case when you are not wearing them.

  • To clean your aligners brush them gently with a soft toothbrush and toothpaste twice a day.

  • Don't use mouthwash or chemicals to clean your aligners.

  • Don't use hot water to clean your aligners as this can warp them.

  • Brush your teeth after every meal before putting your aligners back in.

Precautions

  • If you are allergic to plastics, inform your dentist before wearing the aligners. Keep your aligners away from children and pets.

  • If your aligners get lost or damaged, consult with your dentist as soon as possible.

  • If your aligners are uncomfortable, contact your dentist for advice.

  • Don't chew gum or drink hot liquids while wearing your aligners.

  • Some foods and drinks can stain your aligners, therefore brush your teeth before putting them back in.

  • Handle the aligners with clean hands.

  • If you have any questions, feel free to ask your dentist.
